Hype Luxury Boat Club

A 55-foot motor yacht that actually goes somewhere. Out of Royal Phuket Marina at eleven, into Maya Bay by one, and back under a DJ set as the sun goes down.

The yacht

Small enough to get in anywhere

Hype is a 55-foot motor yacht, 16 feet across, completely renovated in 2025. Three cabins, three bathrooms, an air-conditioned saloon with the bar built in, a real DJ booth, six sun loungers, and a tender on the transom for the beach drops. Five crew for a maximum of twenty guests.

It cruises at 17 knots and tops out at 25, which is the whole point — Phi Phi is a comfortable run rather than a slog, and you reach the lagoons before the day-boat crowds thicken.

Not to be confused: the same operator runs a catamaran under the Hype Boat Club name. This is the motor yacht — a different boat and a different day.

Cruising, not moored. If you would rather stay in one place with a pool and four bars, that is Yona Beach Club. Hype moves.

Join a trip · 10:30 – 19:00

A shared day, three days a week

Up to twenty guests, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Everything is included from the moment you board — you turn up with a swimsuit. Boarding is 10:30 at Royal Phuket Marina for an 11:00 departure, and you are back on the dock at 19:00.

Included in the day

  • Welcome drink, a cold towel and a glass of sparkling wine
  • Gourmet lunch cooked on board
  • Soft drinks and fresh fruit throughout
  • Six sun loungers and a towel for the day
  • Snorkelling gear and the national park fee
  • Insurance and life jackets

Worth knowing

  • The master suite or VIP cabin can be added as an upgrade on the day
  • Alcohol beyond the welcome glass is charged separately
  • Outside food and drink cannot be brought on a join trip
  • If your dates miss a join trip, a half-day charter is often the better answer

Where the boat actually goes

The route changes with the season. Both days board at 10:30 and are back at 19:00 — what happens in between is completely different.

Hype anchored in Maya Bay, Phi Phi, with the limestone cliffs behind

15 Nov – 16 Apr · Phi Phi Islands

The high-season route, and the one people come to Phuket for. Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon and Monkey Beach in a single day.

  • 19:00Back at Royal Phuket Marina

If conditions are against it the captain may switch to the low-season route or an alternative. That call is made on safety, and it is made on the day.

17 Apr – 14 Nov · Krabi & Phang Nga

The low-season route runs east into calmer water — hidden lagoons, a 360-degree viewpoint and the karsts of Phang Nga Bay.

  • 10:30Boarding at Royal Phuket Marina
  • 11:00Departure — welcome drink and a cold towel
  • 12:00Lunch at sea
  • 12:30Koh Hong Lagoon — entered through a gap in the rock

Subject to weather and the tidal calendar — the lagoons are tide-dependent.

Food & drink

Three menus, cooked on board

Every guest picks one of three sets — seafood, meat or vegetarian — each with appetizers, a main and dessert. Seafood runs sushi, tuna niçoise and a prawn and mango salad into grilled salmon. Meat goes maki rolls and chicken salad bites into grilled chicken thighs with carrot purée. Vegetarian finishes on baked butternut squash with chickpea, quinoa and spinach.

Dessert is the same whichever you choose: mango sticky rice, panna cotta with berry topping, or a chocolate brownie. Overnight charters add a full breakfast.

Soft drinks are free all day. Alcohol is separate, either by the bottle or on a free-flow open bar package.

Two rules that catch groups out. A meal can have at most two different menus, with at least four people on each — so eight people can split four seafood and four meat, but not one vegetarian and seven others. And on a free-flow package the whole group takes the same one. Tell us your numbers and we will set it up properly.

Good to know

The marina, and the rules on board

Royal Phuket Marina, unit MC1-5

Every trip leaves from Royal Phuket Marina on the island's east coast. Parking is inside the marina and the Hype desk is at unit MC1-5 — head for the meeting point on the pontoon, not the office. Boarding is 10:30 for an 11:00 departure, and the yacht does not wait.

Rules on board

Hype is a working boat with a captain and crew, and a few of these carry fines rather than a word in your ear. Worth two minutes before you travel.

Safety

  • Follow the captain's instructions at all times
  • Life jackets worn while swimming and snorkelling
  • No jumping into the sea while the yacht is cruising
  • No jumping into or from the tender
  • Guardians are responsible for their minors

On board

  • Smoking, cigars and vapes in open areas only
  • No cannabis in any form, and none inside the national park
  • No smoking or drinking inside the national park area
  • Illegal drugs and weapons are banned and reported to police
  • Don't touch the DJ's equipment, and don't take Hype towels ashore
  • Lost or damaged snorkelling gear is charged for

Outside food and drink cannot be brought on a join trip at all. On a private charter they are allowed, with a corkage fee per bottle.

Questions

Hype Luxury Boat Club, answered

Where does Hype go?

It depends on the season. From 15 November to 16 April the join trip runs to the Phi Phi Islands — Maya Bay, Maya Beach, Pileh Lagoon and Monkey Beach. From 17 April to 14 November it runs east to Krabi and Phang Nga instead, taking in Koh Hong Lagoon, Koh Hong Island, Koh Lao Lading and the karsts of Phang Nga Bay. Both days leave Royal Phuket Marina at 10:30 and are back at 19:00.

Which days does the join trip run?

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Private charters run seven days a week, with a flexible window anywhere between 9 AM and 9 PM. If your dates do not line up with a join trip, message us and we will look at a half day instead.

What is included on the join trip?

The excursion, a welcome drink, a cold towel, a glass of sparkling wine, soft drinks, fresh fruit, a gourmet lunch cooked on board, the sun loungers, the national park fee, snorkelling gear, a towel for the day, and insurance with life jackets. Alcohol beyond the welcome glass is separate.

How many people are on board?

Up to 20 guests on a day trip with five crew, which is small enough that it never feels like a party boat. Overnight charters are limited to 6, because that is what the three cabins sleep.

Can we sleep on board?

Yes, on an overnight charter — 32 hours on board with one breakfast, two lunches and a dinner included, for up to six guests. All three cabins open on an overnight; on a day trip it is the master suite and the VIP cabin only.

Is this the same as the Hype catamaran?

No. The same operator runs a catamaran under the Hype Boat Club name. This page is the 55-foot motor yacht — a different boat, a different route and a different day out.

Can you collect us from somewhere other than the marina?

Usually yes. Ao Po, Panwa, Chalong, Nai Harn, Rawai, Yacht Haven, Kata, Karon, Patong, Kamala, Nai Thon, Mai Khao, Surin and Bang Tao are all possible. It depends on the route and the sea conditions, so tell us where you are staying when you enquire.

Why are there no prices on this page?

Because a join trip, a half day and an overnight are different products, and each moves with the season, the route and the size of your group. A figure that is wrong by the time you read it is worse than no figure. Tell us your dates and we come back with what is actually available.

Tell us your dates

Tell us the dates and the numbers

Join trips run three days a week and charters run seven, so the first thing we check is which of them your dates allow. Tell us when you are on the island and how many of you there are, and we will come back with the options that actually exist that week.
