Yona Beach Club

The world’s first floating beach club. Twelve hundred square metres of teak deck, four bars and a 22-metre infinity pool, moored in the Andaman Sea off Phuket and reached only by shuttle boat.

The venue

A floating oasis, not a boat trip

Yona was built by its founder over six years in Thailand, starting in 2016, and named after his daughter. The result is 48 metres long, 18 metres wide and three decks high: a beach club on the first floor around the infinity pool, a quieter sunset terrace with its own pool above it, and a rooftop with a full 360-degree view of the bay.

There are four bars, a panoramic sea-view restaurant, private cabanas built out over the water, resident DJs, and a kitchen that runs coastal, Thai-Mediterranean and Japanese.

Worth knowing: Yona stays moored — it does not sail. You reach it on a short shuttle-boat ride from the pier, and once you are aboard it is a beach club rather than a cruise. If you want to actually be out on the water, that is Hype instead.

Two sittings

The quiet one, and the party one

Yona runs as two different venues in one day, and picking the wrong one is the most common mistake people make. They are not interchangeable and the age limits differ.

9:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Morning — the chill sitting

Lounge areas, sun beds and the 22-metre infinity pool at their quietest. A live singer rather than a DJ, a proper breakfast and lunch service, and the light photographers actually want. This is the sitting families book, and the one to pick if you want the venue rather than the party.

  • Relaxed, family-friendly
  • Live singer
  • Minimum age 4, under parental supervision
  • Last check-in 12 PM, everyone ashore by 2 PM
  • Kitchen opens 9:30, last order 1 PM
  • Morning Pass (15+) and Kids Pass (4–14)

Breakfast runs 9:30 to 11:30 — eggs benedict and royale, crab benedict, avocado toast, açaí and granola bowls — then the kitchen moves to the main menu.

2:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Afternoon — the party sitting

The pool becomes the centre of it. A resident DJ, live performances and shows through the afternoon, then the whole deck turns to face the Andaman sunset. Strictly over-20s, and the sitting that sells out first on weekends and holidays.

  • Party, dancing, sunset
  • Resident DJ and live entertainment
  • Minimum age 20 — strictly enforced, no exceptions
  • Last check-in 5 PM — late arrivals refused, no refund
  • Kitchen last order 8:30 PM
  • Day Pass and Ladies Pass

Booked a private bed or cabana for the afternoon? You can come aboard earlier for lunch — but your area is only ready at 2 PM.

Where you sit

Every area on board

An entry pass gets you aboard, into the pool, and gives you a food and drink credit — but it does not come with a seat. If you want somewhere that is yours for the day, that is what the beds and cabanas are for.

Every private bed and cabana includes a welcome drink, the area itself, a food and beverage credit, the shuttle boat transfer, a towel for the day, pool access and passenger insurance. Capacities differ between the two sittings — if your group is larger than the area holds, the extra guests simply add a pass.

Good to know

Food, piers and the dress code

A kitchen that takes itself seriously

Through the day it turns to Yona's street gourmet: the smash cheeseburger, wagyu brisket barbacoa tacos, breaded tiger prawn tacos, calamari fritti and XL truffle fries. Then there is the raw bar — caviar, French oysters, Hokkaido scallop sashimi, Obsiblue prawns, bluefin tuna and whole Maine lobster, alongside sushi rolls and sashimi platters. Sharing platters are built for six. Four bars cover champagne by magnum, wines by region and a full cocktail list.

Order ahead. The good things need notice, and this is the detail people miss: celebration cakes 3 days, sharing platters 5 days, oyster platters 7 days, canapés 30 days. Tell us when you enquire and we will get it on the order.

Which pier you leave from

Yona moves pier with the season, so the departure point depends on when you travel. Either way it is a short shuttle-boat ride out to the club, running regularly through the day.

Until 15 Nov 2026
Royal Phuket Marina, parking inside the marina. Tue, Thu, Sat 9:30 AM–9:30 PM; Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun from 2 PM. Morning sittings only run on the three full days.
16 Nov 2026 – 4 Apr 2027
Patong Boat Pier. Open daily 9:30 AM–9:30 PM, with both sittings running every day.

Dress code, and what gets turned away

Yona runs a smart-casual beach club standard and does turn people away at the pier, so this one is worth reading before you pack. Men are asked to board the shuttle with torso and shoulders covered.

Leave at the hotel

  • Tank tops of any kind, ripped t-shirts, pants or shorts
  • Sports jerseys, workout clothes, leggings, sweatpants
  • Sarongs, elephant pants, wetsuits and dive shirts
  • Crocs, workout trainers, sandals or flip-flops with socks
  • Cross-body bags, bum bags, plastic bags and satchels
  • Costumes of any kind, and offensive slogans

What works

  • Tops that cover the shoulders, in natural fabrics
  • Linen shirts, polo shirts, summer dresses
  • Tailored shorts, chinos, light trousers
  • Loafers, espadrilles, smart sandals
  • Swimwear for the pool, with something over it to arrive in

Questions

Yona Beach Club, answered

Does Yona sail?

No. Yona stays moored for safety reasons, so it is a floating beach club rather than a cruise. You reach it on a short shuttle-boat ride from the pier, which is included in every pass and private seating booking. If you want to be out on the water, that is Hype.

What is the minimum age?

It depends on the sitting. The morning package, 9:30 AM to 2 PM, is open to children from 4 under parental supervision, and there is a Kids Pass for 4 to 14 year olds. From 2 PM the minimum age is 20 and under-20s are not permitted on board at all. Alcohol is not served to anyone under 20.

Do I need a bed or cabana, or is a pass enough?

A pass gets you aboard with pool access and a food and drink credit, but it does not include a guaranteed seat. If you want somewhere that belongs to your group for the day — particularly in high season, or with more than a couple of people — book an area.

Which pier does Yona leave from?

Royal Phuket Marina until 15 November 2026, then Patong Boat Pier from 16 November through to 4 April 2027. We confirm the pier when we confirm your date, because it is the detail people most often get wrong.

What is the dress code?

Smart-casual beach club, and it is enforced at the pier rather than on board, so being turned away means missing the day. No tank tops, sportswear, sarongs, elephant pants, Crocs or flip-flops with socks. Linen, polos, summer dresses, tailored shorts and smart sandals are all fine.

Can we hire it privately?

Yes, up to 300 guests across the whole venue, or one deck while the rest of the club runs as normal. There is a fixed morning window and a flexible seven-hour charter. Tell us the date and the numbers and we will come back with what is possible.

How far ahead do we need to order food?

Celebration cakes 3 days, sharing platters 5 days, oyster platters 7 days and canapés 30 days. Mention it when you enquire and we will put it on the order with the booking.

Why are there no prices on this page?

Because they move with the date, the sitting, the area and the size of your group, and a figure that is wrong by the time you read it is worse than no figure. Tell us your dates and we come back with what is actually available and what it costs.

Tell us your dates

What is free on your date

Beds, cabanas, passes and private hire at Yona are arranged with our team directly, so we can check what is actually open on your date and put your group in the right part of the boat. Sunset seating and the larger cabanas go first.
