The club
Built around the dancefloor, not around the tables
BOA is a multi-level room with an expansive dancefloor at the centre of it, and the VIP seating encircles the DJ booth rather than sitting off to one side. The club describes the effect as closer to a Boiler Room than to a bottle-service room, and that is a fair description of how it is laid out — the people at the tables are in the middle of it, not watching from the edge.
The sound is an Adamson system, which is the part most people notice second and remember first: it is loud without being muddy, which is the whole argument for a club that calls itself a house music club rather than a nightclub that plays house. Doors from 9pm, every night.
Three levels
Dancefloor, mezzanine or the VIP ring. They are genuinely different rooms to spend a night in, and it is worth deciding which one you want before you book.
House, all night
One kind of music, played properly, rather than a different genre every hour. If that is what you came to Phuket for, this is the room.
Open to everyone
BOA runs it as an open room rather than a velvet-rope one. You do not need a table to get in, and the guestlist is free to be on.
Where you sit
Seven areas, and they are not interchangeable
You choose an area rather than a specific table, and BOA's reservation team places your group within it on the night. Which area you pick changes the night far more than the size of the table does.
Dance Floor
A standing table right on the floor, in the middle of the room. The loudest and the least sitting down.
Mezzanine
One level up, looking down over the floor. Sofas, and you can hear each other without leaving the room.
Opera
Individual high-backed booths set into the side of the room, like boxes at a theatre. The most private seating in the club, and the one area that takes no extra guests.
Backstage
Behind the booth, away from the floor. The calmest of the seated areas and the easiest place to actually have a conversation.
Backstage DJ
The same area, but right up against the booth. If watching the DJ work is the point of your night, this is the one.
VIP
The ring that wraps around the DJ booth. You are in the middle of the room rather than at the edge of it — the best seat in the club if you want to be part of the night, not above it.
Bar VIP
Standing tables up at the VIP bar. Served quickly, close to the action, and you are on your feet.
How to get in
Tables, guestlist, or a group
BOA sits alongside Yona Beach Club and Hype as the three places on this island we arrange with the venue itself rather than through anyone in between. That is the whole reason to come to us for it: what we tell you is free on your date actually is.
A table
Tell us the date, the size of your group and which area you fancy, and we come back with what genuinely exists that night. What is left changes by the day of the week, and a Saturday in season is a different conversation from a Tuesday.
Guestlist
Names down ahead of the night. Message us the date and who is coming.
A bigger group
Over ten people, BOA puts together a package rather than selling you tables one at a time. Stag and hen groups, birthdays and work trips are all worth arranging before you fly rather than at the door.
Worth knowing
The things that catch people out
- Be there before 11:30pm. This is the one that actually costs people their table — after that it can be released to someone else. If you are going to be late, tell us and we will tell them.
- One table covers your group up to its capacity. You can add up to two more people to most areas; Opera is the exception and takes no extras at all.
- You pick the area, not the table. The reservations team places you within it so the whole group actually fits together.
- Over ten of you? Ask for a group package rather than booking several tables — it is how the club prefers to handle it.
- Over 18s. Bring ID.
Tell us your dates
Tell us the night and the numbers
BOA is arranged with our team directly. Send us the date, how many of you there are and which area you like the look of, and we come back with the tables and guestlist that are actually open that night.
Questions
BOA, answered
Do you deal with BOA directly?
Yes. BOA is one of three venues on Phuket we arrange with the venue itself — the others are Yona Beach Club and Hype. It means what we tell you is free actually is.
Which area should we pick?
If you came for the music, the dancefloor or the VIP ring around the booth. If you want to talk to each other, the mezzanine or Opera. Backstage is the quietest of the seated areas and Backstage DJ is the closest you get to the booth. Tell us what sort of night you want and we will say which one fits.
How many does each table take?
It depends on the area, and we would rather give you the right number than a quick one — ask us with your group size and we will confirm it against what the club has on your date.
Why are there no prices on this page?
Because a table on a quiet Tuesday and the same table on a Saturday in high season are different products, and a figure that is wrong by the time you read it is worse than no figure. Tell us your date and we come back with what it costs.
Is there a dress code?
Nothing strict. It is a club rather than a beach bar, so most people make a bit of an effort, but nobody is being turned away for trainers.
Can we just turn up?
Yes — BOA runs an open room and you do not need a table to get in. Get your names on the guestlist through us and it is free to do.
